    Love K. Foy

    Love K. Foy is an education administrator, writer, and yogi. A native New Yorker and Long Island transplant, Love has lived in the Wheatley Heights community for twenty years. When she is not advocating for environmental justice or community sustainability, you can find Love listening to music, writing her next book, or holding a yoga/meditation class at the Metamorphosis Wellness Center in Wheatley Heights, NY.

    Meryl A. Porter

    Meryl A. Porter is a retired educator and community advocate. As president of The Mothers Club of Wheatley Heights, Meryl works to ensure equal access to resources for all stakeholders.

    Phyllis Y. Stewart

    Phyllis Y. Stewart is a lifelong resident of the Wheatley Heights and Wyandanch hamlets. A retired educator, Phyllis’s passion and advocacy for the environment has led her to lead a vegan lifestyle, focusing on wellness in all areas of life, including community health and well-being.

    Dr. Ronald Wells

    The Rev. Dr. Ron Wells, a dynamic force in the community, was ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ on February 10, 1985. As the Senior Pastor of Union Congregational Church for 25 years, he has inspired countless congregants. Dr. Ron also dedicated 30 years of service as a Captain in the US Navy Reserve Chaplaincy, including a nine-month tour in Afghanistan, where he provided spiritual guidance in one of the world’s most challenging environments. A retired NYC principal, Dr. Ron is the proud father to seven children and grandfather to seven delightful grandchildren. His journey exemplifies service, leadership, and the importance of family!

  • Felicita Pitt

    Felicita Pitt is a 25+ years resident of the Wheatley Heights community. Originally from NYC, Felicita has made Long Island her home and enjoys the beautiful beaches, foliage, and other natural elements the area offers. As a member of the legal field for over 30 years, Felicita guides our group in understanding how different laws impact our environment and long-term sustainability.

    Theresa Wallace knows the Wheatley Heights and Wyandanch hamlets very well. Having spent her early years in both communities, she understands the people, places, and priorities of both areas. A retired educator, Theresa has turned her energies to environmental advocacy and maintaining the peaceful way of life we enjoy here on Long Island.
