When she is not advocating for environmental justice or community sustainability, you can find Love listening to music, writing her next book, or holding a yoga/meditation class at the Metamorphosis Wellness Center in Wheatley Heights, NY.

Phyllis Y. Stewart is a lifelong resident of the Wheatley Heights and Wyandanch hamlets. A retired educator, Phyllis’s passion and advocacy for the environment has led her to lead a vegan lifestyle, focusing on wellness in all areas of life, including community health and well-being.

Dr. Ronald Wells
The Rev. Dr. Ron Wells, a dynamic force in his community, was ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ on February 10, 1985. As the Senior Pastor of Union Congregational Church for an incredible 25 years, he has inspired countless congregants. With an impressive background as a Captain in the US Navy Reserve Chaplaincy, he dedicated 30 years of service, including a remarkable nine-month tour in Afghanistan, where he provided spiritual guidance in one of the world’s most challenging environments. Beyond his military achievements, Dr. Wells is a retired Principal from New York City, shaping the lives of many students. Proudly, he is the father of seven wonderful children and a doting grandfather to seven delightful grandchildren. His journey exemplifies service, leadership, and the importance of family!
